Maules Creek Mines has been producing high-energy thermal coal since 2015, with Ultra-class mining equipment driving large-scale production. Its HV workshop and warehouse facility includes four high-lift bays and two low-lift bays designed to service the mine’s truck fleet, a purpose-built tyre jacking pad, lube and fuel fill facilities, and supporting infrastructure.
Our Work
With a scope comprising 1,615 m³ of concrete and 256 tonnes of structural steel, Stage 1 was a major construction project at the Maules Creek Coal Mine. Stripes was responsible for full project management and administration, structural steel fabrication and surface protection, and all on-site civil and structural installation works. Construction included extensive civil and concrete works, fabrication and erection of structural steel, cladding and roofing, installation of handrails and stairs, and the commissioning of an overhead crane system. Stage 2 expanded the HV Workshop’s footprint with a further 628 m³ of concrete and 160 tonnes of structural steel. This stage included additional civil and concrete works, fabrication and erection of structural steel, cladding and roofing, and an extension of the overhead crane system. We worked closely with Whitehaven to manage tight construction schedules across both stages, successfully delivering a safe, high-quality outcome on time.
