Cotton Gin Scrubber System

Founded in 1967, Cotton Seed Distributors Ltd (CSD) is Australia’s exclusive supplier of premium cotton varieties. Based in Wee Waa, NSW, CSD supports the industry with reliable seed supply, research-backed agronomy tools and practical technical support.

To help farms boost yield, fibre quality and crop performance, CSD continues to invest in product development, research programs, field events and the latest onsite technology.

Our work for CSD

Cotton processing creates a high volume of airborne dust, lint fibres, plant matter and other fine particles. A scrubber helps manage purification by drawing contaminated air through a controlled system, separating solid particles from the airstream and reducing the amount of material discharged from the facility.

In 2021, Stripes was contracted by CSD to design, manufacture and install a scrubber system to complement their industrial processing facility.

For CSD, this system had to do more than capture dust. It needed to fit into a live processing environment, work with the existing plant layout and support dependable operation during demanding production periods.

To achieve this, we started with a 3D scan of the work area and surrounding structure. Equipped with accurate site data, our engineering team developed a detailed, site-specific design. This covered airflow requirements, ducting routes, equipment positioning, structural support, material handling, maintenance access and connection points into the existing plant.

From there, we delivered the civil, structural and mechanical works required to install the system. This included earthworks, concrete installation, structural steel fabrication and installation, and the mechanical and piping works needed to bring the scrubber into operation.

Stripes also provided commissioning support to help verify system performance after installation. The completed scrubber system has equipped CSD to improve air pollution control, reduce health risks and strengthen environmental compliance.
